With Independence Day fast approaching, residents are encouraged to be safe and abide by City of Moundridge regulations pertaining to fireworks.
According to the City’s June newsletter, fireworks may only be discharged from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 2-3.
On July 4, as the country celebrates its Semiquincentennial marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence being adopted, fireworks may be discharged from 8 a.m. to midnight.
In the newsletter, the City also pointed out that “these hours have changed from previous years.”
Fireworks cannot be discharged in any street or alley within the city limits. Doing so is a violation of the law.
The city office will be closed July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July.
