Moundridge Historical Association members gathered for their 2026 Annual Meeting on July 20 in the Heritage Museum Meeting Room on the Moundridge Museum Complex grounds.
While organizers hoped more members would be in attendance, they had an enjoyable evening.
MHA organized in 1986, so this is the 40th year of preserving community history.
A little trivia as to how Moundridge got its name was shared.
Leon Guhr and Bret Gillmore were elected to remain on the board for another three years.
A video about the Cole family, the Cole house and the area around Moundridge before it became a city was shown to the group.
MHA was pleased to have two portraits identified.
They have been hanging in the conference room for several years, marked as “UNKNOWN.”
Vern and Rose Schroeder, MHA members, identified them as Vern’s great grandparents Peter and Maria (Ries) Gering.
Refreshment time was special with Peter Preheim providing poppyseed rolls made by Deanne Loganbill.
The evening concluded with visiting and touring the Heritage Museum, allowing attendees to check out the new exhibits.
