The Moundridge USD 423 Board of Education approved several personnel, policy and planning items during its regular meeting Aug. 10.
The board unanimously approved the resignation of Will Kane as maintenance director effective Aug. 31, as well as the resignation of Lavon Martin from the district’s transportation department.
The board also approved an amendment to policy IIBGC formally designating the district’s Facebook and Instagram pages as its social media platforms.
However, ParentSquare will remain the district’s official communication platform for families.
Board members also unanimously approved the 2026 Activities Handbook.
As part of the district’s preparation for the 2026-27 school year, Superintendent Clark Wedel and the district’s principals reviewed a building needs assessment covering Moundridge Elementary, Middle School and High School, respectively.
The assessment will be used to help develop the district’s 2026-27 budget.
Relatedly, the board also set Sept. 14 as the date for its public hearings on the upcoming school budget.
The Revenue Neutral Rate hearing is scheduled for 5:50 p.m., followed by the budget hearing at 5:55 p.m.
The board’s regular September meeting will then begin at 6 p.m.
The board recessed into executive session for personnel matters involving non-elected personnel at 6:50 p.m. and reconvened at 7:10 p.m.
No action was taken following the executive session, and the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
