The Moundridge Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is officially in full swing.
This year’s theme, “Unearth a Story,” invites readers of all ages to dig into great books, discover new adventures, and explore a summer filled with dinosaur-themed fun.
The program kicked off on June 5 and runs through July 17.
Throughout the summer, participants can track their reading, attend special events, and enjoy activities designed to encourage a love of reading and learning.
One of the highlights of the Summer Reading Program is Books on Blankets, held every Thursday throughout the summer.
Children are invited to bring a blanket, listen to a story, and take home a free book.
Books on Blankets has become one of the library’s most popular summer traditions, helping young readers build their home libraries while enjoying stories with friends and family.
In addition to Books on Blankets, the library will offer a variety of dinosaur-themed activities inspired by this year’s “Unearth a Story” theme.
From prehistoric adventures to hands-on activities, there will be plenty of opportunities for children to learn, imagine, and have fun as they explore the world of dinosaurs.
Summer reading helps children maintain and strengthen their reading skills while school is out, but the program is about more than books.
It is also an opportunity for families to spend time together, connect with their community, and discover all the Moundridge Public Library has to offer.
