According to the National Weather Service, Moundridge could experience severe weather today and tomorrow (June 20-21).
For tonight, the NWS forecast said, “Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 a.m. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Increasing clouds, with a low around 70. South southeast wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.”
Any showers or thunderstorms on Sunday are predicted to occur before 11 a.m., according to the NWS.
If residents need to seek refuge, the City of Moundridge has several storm shelters available. These include the following locations:
- Mercy Hospital
- Black Kettle Park (west shelter)
- City Building Shelter (located in the south parking lot next to the City Building)
- Northridge Community Building
